Module 7: Materials That Matter — Insulation 101 and Assemblies That Work

Description
Materials do not save buildings. Systems do. This module explains how insulation materials actually behave in real buildings — thermal performance, air leakage interaction, moisture behavior, vapor control, and drying potential. Participants will learn to make climate-appropriate material choices that reliably reduce BTU demand, understand why assemblies fail at transitions and handoffs, and apply the 50 percent BTU reduction target as a practical design benchmark.
